Hi there,
My name is Michelle and I’m an artist, designer, and author based in Nottingham. I create art inspired by African culture and I would describe my style as bold, colourful, and graphic. As a creative, am passionate about storytelling, and intentional living and want to spread positivity and joy with my work and life. I hope that my art will bring life and colour to your life. 🙂
The making of Baana(children)
I created this piece as a part of the launch of my novel, Jaliya and the Secret of the Golden Dragonfly, in August 2023. Baana is an 80*100 acrylic on canvas painting that took approximately 12 hours of painting to complete. Baana, along with a smaller painting in the same style, were both sold for approximately 800 pounds.
I drew heavily from the contents of my novel and both the painting and the book have a similar message. They represent the hope we as a society have placed on the next generation and the determination with which that generation must face all obstacles in their paths.
